Contract Negotiation

Contracts are a fact of life - service agreements, confidentiality agreements, employment agreements/restrictive covenants, marketing agreements, equipment leases, assignments, purchase and sale agreements and business formation documents such as LLC operating agreements and shareholders agreements. Frequently, small businesses and individuals do not have an attorney to prepare, review and negotiate agreements and to provide the expertise and personalized attention required for these matters. Larger businesses may have attorneys on staff, but there is overflow due to heavy work volume, a new business direction, or leaves of absence.

Even the simplest agreement usually requires some negotiation, and often a seemingly minor comment from the other side can present a material change in the business deal or flag that the parties have not actually agreed on certain important terms.

The key is to start with the right form and an experienced negotiator and closer. Hudson Law Firm attorneys have drafted and negotiated hundreds of agreements, ranging from simple to complex. We understand that negotiating is not about winning a point - it is about working for a common result, usually for the mutual benefit of both sides - closing a sale, starting a business or an alliance, or settling a dispute. It is also about protecting clients from reasonably foreseeable risks and making sure that clients understand their obligations, rights and liabilities.

If you or your business needs an an experienced attorney to handle drafting and negotiating commercial agreements or if your legal department is unable to handle the workload because of other obligations, Hudson Law Firm can do it - cost effectively - and faster than a larger law firm. Contact us.
